More cold and windy weather for Wednesday and once again no one went fishing or if they did they had the good sense not to tell anyone.
There will be a public hearing on January 3 at the DNREC Lewes facility 901 Pilottown Road where the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will present the proposed addendum to the black sea bass plan. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM.
There will be several options including both regional and coastwide plans. One option would include a winter season in February with a possible corresponding reduction in fishing days in either the spring or fall season. While having a season in the middle of winter might sound good, when you consider the number of days when the weather wouldn’t allow you to fish and all of those days could count against the spring and fall when the weather is better, it might not be such a good idea.
This is a public hearing on black sea bass, nothing else. Please listen to the options and comment on just those options.
