WGMD Fishing Report 12-30-18

The weather on Sunday was fishable and a few boats tried out the tog action.

Lauren at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the head boat Judy V had six keepers and Captain John Nedelka on the Karen Sure came back with five tog over the 16-inch minimum size.  The store on the state park will be closed for the next two months, but their location in South Bethany will remain open all year.

Over in Lewes, Captain Cary Evans had 13 keepers to 13.75 pounds on the Grizzly.  He plans to run on Monday and I hope to have his report tomorrow.

It is supposed to rain on Monday, but the seas are not going to be that bad so I expect to see boats fishing for tog and sea bass.  This will be the end of the sea bass season until May, but tog remains open all winter.

I plan to go out on Monday with Scott Newlin to tag more sea bass and tog for his study.  Perhaps I can finally use those tags I have been carrying around since spring and still have not deployed.
