Monday saw decent weather and the rockfish arrived.
Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina had stripers lined up on the cleaning table late in the afternoon. She said they were caught close to Lewes, but did not have all the details. The Katydid brought in some tog with one citation for Scott Shoup and his 7.57 pounder. We missed a citation on the Katydid on Sunday when Charlie Zukowski weighed in a 12.1-pound tog. On Saturday Phil Falgowski caught and released a 42-inch rockfish off of Wildwood.
Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em saw a two-person limit catch of rockfish come in on the No Limit. The fish were caught two miles off of Rehoboth on MOJOs and bucktails. A couple of boats went tog fishing and had a slow pick.
The rockfish have arrived in the ocean now the problem is will they stay after the next cold front moves in on Wednesday. The way the weather is stacking up it will be Thursday or Friday before anyone will be able to get out and look for the stripers. Perhaps they will make a run through the inlet.
