WGMD Fishing Report 12-5-18

Wednesday saw below normal temperatures and a brisk north wind, but several folks braved the conditions and brought home some fish.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Grizzly, with Captain Cary Evans, came back with a boat limit of tog to 10 pounds.  The Katydid also caught some tog, but said the sea conditions were not pleasant.  A private boat ran up the Jersey coast to Stone Harbor to catch three rockfish between 12 and 15 pounds.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, Clark told us the few surf casters that tried the beach at Three Rs caught a couple of short rock and lots of dog sharks.  Cut bunker was the prime bait.

Chris at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em reported that the Indian Giver ran to New Jersey and returned with five rock weighing between 12 and 15 pounds.  Sounds like they were somewhere near Stone Harbor.  Another boat was out tog fishing, but had not returned when I called.

It looks like Saturday will see decent weather and maybe some rockfish closer to Delaware ports or an easier run up to New Jersey.
