Wednesday saw small craft advisories up for the morning and, while the wind did drop out in the afternoon, the seas were still running three to four feet in the ocean.  The rest of the week continues to look good with warm temperatures and light winds.

Ice House Bait and Tackle did report that white perch continue to be caught from Bowers Beach on bloodworms and grass shrimp.  Several locations along the Broadkill River such as Round Pole Bridge and Petersfield Ditch have also seen some white perch.

The Cast for a Cure Surf Tournament will be held on May 18 from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  Teams of four will fish two stations during the day for bragging rights and a trophy.  There will be two Calcuttas, one for the largest bluefish and one for the largest rockfish.  All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Tunnel Cancer Center.  Old Inlet Bait and Tackle is the tournament headquarters where the captain’s meeting will be held on Friday, May 17.  Teams will pick up their tournament packet and draw their fishing stations at that time.
