WGMD Fishing Report 4-19-18
Wednesday was an improvement as far as the weather, but a stop at Lewes Harbour Marina revealed that no boats had set sail. I did speak with Captain Ted who was getting the Angler and the Pirate King ready for a Thursday launch. Most of the remaining boats that sail from here are still on the hard.
Leaving there I headed for Milton to do a little fishing from the town dock at the head of the Broadkill River. I used nice, fresh nightcrawlers on a small circle hook fished under a bobber.
I was the only one there for a while, but was joined by another hopeful angler who was casting a small crankbait as he walked the shoreline. He had no success and soon departed.
My next companion also fished with bait under a bobber. He made several casts and finally connected with a good-sized crappie that he quickly released. I asked what sort of bait he was using and he said it was a small, imitation minnow. It looked like a fly tied to look like a shiner. That was the only fish I saw before departing.
