WGMD Fishing Report 4-2-18

hannity-promo

Sunday saw decent weather and not much fishing due to the holidays.  I made phone calls to numerous tackle shops and marinas only to find out fishing is till slow.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle had an unconfirmed report of two big blues caught from the beach at Ocean City.  Normally, I don’t pass on unconfirmed reports, but right now I don’t care, I just want to hear that somebody caught a fish.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em did hear of short rockfish caught from the south jetty.  Bert said the bunker were so thick the anglers could feel them hitting the line and foul hooked several.  The bait is here and all we need is an increase in the water temperature to 50 degrees and the blues and rockfish will start feeding.

John at Dan’s Tackle said he had reports of small rock caught on bloodworms and bunker from Broadkill Beach.  Broadkill has always been one of the first locations for surf casters to find action in the spring.  The new air station should make it easier to air up when leaving the island.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
