WGMD Fishing Report 4-28-18

Small craft advisories flew again on Friday and as far as I know only the Katydid out of Lewes Harbour Marina left the dock.  They returned with a catch of tog and reported some pretty nasty conditions.

Dave at Lighthouse View Tackle said only a few folks fished from the pier at Cape Henlopen State Park.  One angler recorded a few short flounder while everyone else had skates plus a few short rockfish.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, Clark told us three kings were caught from Bethany Beach on bloodworms.  Otherwise it was short rock and small blues caught from the surf and the inlet.  Cut bunker, bucktails, plugs and bloodworms have worked best on these fish.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em Lauren told me no one sailed on Friday, but hopes are high for Saturday.

Unless you can get offshore to the toggin grounds, I think your best bet will be the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and the Broadkill River.  The time to fish will be during the outgoing current and I would use live minnows, Gulp! and strips of bunker.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
