WGMD Fishing Report 4-29-18

Saturday was a beautiful day for a surf fishing Tournament and the 12 teams that competed in the Cast for a Cure Surf Tournament caught a lot of fish.  Most were small rockfish that didn’t count, but black drum and kings did count and those are the fish the winners recorded.  The Surf Casters came out on top and took home the first place trophy as well as the trophy for the largest fish.  This was a pure charity contest with no money for the winners, just a trophy and the satisfaction of knowing you have helped the Tunnel Cancer Center.  Brandy Timmons is the head of the tournament with Butch and Clark Evans from Old Inlet lending a lot of support.  A raffle held after the tournament raised a lot more money as winners walked away with some very nice fishing equipment.

I stopped by Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em where Lauren said the Captain Bob came in with 38 keeper tog.

The only fish seen at Lewes Harbour Marina were the tog caught on the Katydid.

Small craft advisories are posted for Sunday.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
