WGMD Fishing Report 4-5-18
Wednesday was a lovely summer day complete with gale-force winds and afternoon showers. If we keep at it long enough we may yet see spring.
It looks like the cheating controversy from the 2016 White Marlin Open is finally over. A federal appeals court determined the verdict handed down by the first judge was correct. The 2.8 million can now be distributed to the winners.
This year will be the 45th White Marlin Open and I hope to ride along on someone’s boat. I rode with Jimmy Motsko on the first white marlin open and would love to be there for the 45th.
Believe it or not, but the weather report is calling for snow on Saturday which is opening day for trout season in New Castle County. I have fished opening day in the snow with my two boys when they were little. We were three frozen popsicles when we got home, and if I remember correctly, we didn’t have very many fish. This year I will be at Lurefest in Bowers Beach Fire Hall where it is nice and warm.
