WGMD Fishing Report 4-7-18

Friday was dry and sunny, but with winds topping 30 knots.  As of Friday afternoon there were two weather reports circulating about.  One calls for rain and snow on Saturday and the other calls for no rain or snow.  I am still planning to hit Bill’s Flea Market then head for Bower’s Beach and Lurefest.  If it is snowing and raining I will sleep in and skip the flea market.

Those planning to be on site for the opening of trout fishing in New Castle County will probably not sleep in.  In order to get a spot along the bank you should plan to be there no later than 7:00 AM and at some of the more popular locations along White Clay Creek a 6:30 or even earlier arrival is not unheard of.

You may wonder what is wrong with people who stand alongside a stream for hours in the cold and wet just to catch a trout.  Nothing more than what is wrong with people who stay all night in the parking lot of as fast food place just so they can get a free chicken sandwich every week for a year.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
