WGMD Fishing Report 5-17-19

Thursday saw some more good weather and more boats ran to the sea bass grounds.

Before we get to fish caught on Thursday, I have some late reports that came in for Wednesday.  The Grizzly out of Lewes had a boat limit of sea bass as did the Captain Ike out of Indian River.

Dan’s Tackle Box reported that Jeff Blevins caught two black drum from Broadkill Beach.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us the Katydid had a boat limit of sea bass on Thursday.  John Kenyon walked the beach between the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park and the Point tossing surface lures and was rewarded with a 13 and a 6-pound bluefish.  Jason Destafney fished with two friends on the Persistence to catch sea bass on clams at an ocean wreck.  Joe Wilson and Joey Simpler had 20 blues to 35 inches tossing spoons from their boat between the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park and the Inner Wall.

Burt at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the boats out of there came in with limits of sea bass.
