WGMD Fishing Report 5-20-19

Sunday was warm and breezy with small craft advisories up for the ocean.

The Cast for a Cure Surf Fishing Tournament went off on Saturday and Clark Evans was kind enough to send me the results.  He and Brandy Timmons put this event on every year to benefit the Tunnel Cancer Center.  All entry money goes to the Center.  The winners get trophies except for the Bluefish and Striped Bass Calcuttas.

This year team Here Fishy, Fishy came in First with 84 points.  Team Ass in Seat was Second with 72 points and Reel Women came in Third with 70 points.  Worm Wigglers won the Striped Bass Calcutta with a beautiful 40-inch striper.  The Bluefish Calcutta was a tie with Reel Women and Ass In Seat both catching 19-inch blues.  They split the prize money.

The fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park reported blues and flounder on cut bait and metal lures on Sunday during incoming water.  Blues were also caught along the beach east of the pier.  Blues and flounder are  in the Canal.
