WGMD Fishing Report 5-30-19

Wednesday was a beautiful summer day, but summer is still a month away.

For those of you who haven’t tried to navigate Baker’s Channel at low tide, don’t.  The water is only 1.5 feet deep and that’s with a normal tide.  It will be all but dry on a west wind blowout tide.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said the final total from the Joe Morris Memorial Canal Flounder Tournament was $10,608.  Buster Blair caught an 11 and a 10.5-pound rockfish out of Indian River Inlet on a Storm Shad during outgoing current on Wednesday morning.  Dave Houger caught a 19-inch keeper flounder and lots of shorts from the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal during incoming water while using a chartreuse mullet Gulp!.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said a private boat brought in a 130-pound thresher shark.

Clark at Old Inlet checked in a 3.84-pound trout for Reade Carrhers caught from the southside of the Inlet on pink Gulp! during incoming current.
