Friday was cool and cloudy in Lewes with a sudden downpour around 2:00 PM.  People still went fishing in the Canal and Broadkill Beach.

Bob Zak caught a black drum that broke his 50-pound scale.  Scott and Harry Aiken caught several black drum on sand fleas.  Dan’s Tackle Box reported Aaron Brommer caught two black drum to 22 pounds on sand fleas. Jason had a 22.75-pounder and Don Baltrush had a black drum weighing 18 pounds all on sand fleas at Broadkill Beach.  Silvara Davis caught a 29-inch rock and a big blue from Delaware Bay.

The Delaware Mobile Surf Fisherman’s team came in seventh at the Ocracoke Surf Tournament with Lydia Schmierer winning the trophy for the largest fish caught by a female angler.

I spoke with Captain Cary Evans on the Grizzly and Captain Brent Wiest on the Katydid and both had the same report.  Lots of shot tog with a few keepers on Saturday.

Julie Stevenson traveled down to Assateague Island to catch a 34-inch rockfish on a peeler crab.

This is Eric Burnley with you WGMD fishing Report.
