Dylan Mooney of Harbeson, DE fished the Washington Canyon and caught this 19.1lb and 39 inch mahi using ballyhoo.

Monday was a beautiful fishing day with both ocean and bay trips producing some nice fish.

At Lewes Harbour Marina, Tommy reported that the Katydid had 19 flounder over ocean structure.  Slot rockfish and keeper flounder came out of the Canal.  Minnows and Gulp! for the flounder with live eels the

Keith Hoye of Bethany Beach, DE caught these nice keeper flounder while fishing on the head boat Judy V. with Capt. Chris Adams. They were out at Site 10 drifting over open bottom and Keith was jigging a Gulp on a bucktail and hooked up with this 5lb and 24 inch flounder and another 17 inch fish.

hot bait for the rockfish.  Offshore, tuna and dolphin continue to come in from the canyons.

A very dedicated angler fished the pier at Cape Henlopen State Park all night Sunday into Monday.  He ended the night with three short trout and one slot rockfish according to Lighthouse View Tackle.  Spot and croaker kept daytime anglers happy.

The weather was so nice I decided to run down to the southside of Indian River Inlet and try for some croaker.  Acie at Old Inlet said he fished there on Sunday, but didn’t catch anything.  Nevertheless, I bought a pint of sand fleas and gave it a try.  After a couple of hours of not having a bite, not seeing anyone else get a fish and continuously cleaning green seaweed off my rig, I gave up and drove back home.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
