Tuesday saw strong southwest winds and rough seas in the ocean, but boats were able to fish in the Delaware Bay and the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said Herb Dressler caught a 23.5-inch flounder on a minnow while fishing in the bay on the Miss Kirstin.  Rick Mills had 22 and a 17-inch flounder out of the Canal on Gulp! fished on a Nick’s Rig.  Jack Henrickson caught a 25-inch rockfish while his fishing buddy Rick Mills had a22.5 incher out of the Canal on live eels.  Young Valerie Soto and Jonathan Zacariaz each caught flounder on the Fish Hawk.  Valerie’s fish measured 17 inches while Jonathan’s was 22 inches.

I stopped by the Lighthouse View Tackle Shop on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park around noon and there were very few folks fishing.  It was hot and windy, but early in the morning a couple of keeper flounder were caught on Carolina rigged minnows.  Once the flood tide arrived there should be some spot and croaker on bloodworms.

Captain John Nedelka on the Karen Sue caught spadefish and triggers at Fenwick Shoal.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
