WGMD Fishing Report 7-30-18

Monday proved a disappointment for me.  I had my boat hooked up and ready to go when I checked the weather report.  The forecast had changed from less than 5 northeast with rain by 3:00 PM to 10 to 15 northeast with 100% chance of rain by 9:00 AM.  I went back to bed.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us that Joe and Dave Walker along with Tony Vansant chunked at the 12-Fathom Lump for two bluefins weighting 102 and 40 pounds plus one 60-pound yellowfin.  The Local Girl with Jeff Klopp, Bill Swords, Mike and Mason Newsham also chunked at the 12-Fathom Lump to catch an 87.5-pound bluefin.  On Sunday the Miss Kirstin with Captain Vince Keagy put his party on seven flounder and one sea bass.

At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park we heard that the rain made for a lonely day in the shop as no one fished the pier.

Chris at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em told us the Ocean Drifter had one bluefin and the Captain Ike had one bluefin and one yellowfin.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
