WGMD Fishing Report 7-31-18

Tuesday was not as bad as Monday, but not many boats worked in the ocean.

I had an interesting report on SaltFish.  A one private boat fished the Old Grounds over the weekend and had good flounder action.  They started at B Buoy and when they didn’t catch any keepers, they moved to the Old Grounds.  There they caught a couple of keepers and then kept drifting over the same area until they put nine in the box.  The short drift was about 120 feet long and payed good dividends.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Angler came in from the bay with a catch of croaker and kings.  Captain Pete on the Top Fin has had great catch and release shark fishing close to shore in the ocean.  Some of these toothy critters are in the eight to nine-foot range.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em, Chris said the Always Something came in from the ocean with three tuna.  The Judy V had a catch of triggerfish and some blues were caught at Fenwick Shoal.

Old Inlet said flounder to 24 inches came over the rail on the north side.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
