While fishing just outside the Indian River Inlet on the “Sunset”, brothers David and Christian Ostrowski of Chadds Ford, PA caught this 19lb cobia using live bunker that they had snagged in the inlet earlier in the day.

Sunday was the fifth and final day of the Flounder Pounder Open held out of Paradise Grill and sponsored by Shorts Marine.

The top five winners were team Yahoo’s with Captain Luke Homey and angler Pete Hesson who walked away with a big check for $100,000.  In second place was Team Stalker with Captain Skip Yastremki and angler Mike Frank.  They brought in an 8.5-pounder and took home $50,000.  Third place went to Team Sea Hawg with Captain Paul Zarebicki who was also the angler and caught their 8.4-pound flounder worth $25,000.  Holding down fourth place and winning $15,000 was Team El Nino with captain and angler Nino Aversa with his 8.1-pound flounder.  In fifth was Team Fish Bones with Captain Wayne Demarco and angler Joe McNeal winning $10,000 for their 7.9 pounder.

While not quite as rich as the White Marlin Open, I think this is a good contest for the working man to enter and walk away with some real money.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
