WGMD Fishing Report 9-19-18

Hermann-Financial

Wednesday was sunny, but still a bit too breezy for boats to fish the ocean.  The marine forecast doesn’t look too good out there for the rest of the week or the weekend.  Delaware Bay should be fishable for most of this time and the surf is going to be rough with an onshore wind for most of the time except for Saturday when the wind will be offshore.

Lewes Harbour Marina posted a photo of Mike Campanese with his first ever sheepshead.  He caught the fish on Lewes Harbour Marina sand fleas and from the photo I would guess he was in Delaware Bay.

My friend Doug Elliott called in the afternoon to give me a report on his trip to the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park.  Doug fished with cut mullet and caught small blues.  He said the folks at the end of the pier were using bloodworms and catching spot.

Clark at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said small blues were caught at Three Rs on Wednesday morning by anglers using cut mullet.  One of their customers caught two speckled trout on jigs along the southside of the inlet.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report
