Kyle Neibich of Boonsboro, MD, caught this 3.7lb and 22 inch flounder while fishing on the north jetty of the Indian River Inlet using minnow on a top and bottom rig.

There were some heavy downpours on Sunday, but those who fished between the raindrops had a pretty good day.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid had a mixed bag of flounder and dolphin with Melissa Schwab taking the pool with a 4.9-pound flatfish.

The water quality in the Upper Chesapeake Bay is improving and good rock fishing is taking place with chumming and live lining the top techniques.  Those who chum and fish with bunker catch mostly small rock and catfish while those you use live spot for bait have a much better chance of catching a keeper rock.  Big Spanish mackerel and small blues have been caught south of the Bay Bridge by trolling spoons.

At Dan’s Tackle we learned that there has been a good mixed bag catch from Broadkill Beach with croaker, spot, blues and pompano taking bloodworms and sand fleas.

Rick’s Bait and Tackle reported triggerfish have been caught at the Ice Breakers on sand fleas.  A few black drum were taken there as well at slack water.
