WGMD Fishing Report 9-27-18

Thursday saw small craft advisories flying and with a Friday forecast of northwest winds of 10 to 15 with gusts to 20 knots they will be up again for bay and ocean.

At Lewes Harbour Marina, Amanda gave me the names of those two sheepshead citation winners that fished on the Katydid on Wednesday.  Ron Mistretta had the 9.7 pounder while my friend Bob Murphy reeled in the 12.9-pound sheepshead.  On the same trip, Chris Thawley caught a 13.6-pound black drum.  The rest of the Wednesday Group caught several more sheepshead and drum.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us small blues came through the inlet during incoming water.  A few decent rockfish were caught out of the inlet on live eels Wednesday night and very early Thursday morning.  The surf was too rough and came too far up the beach in most locations, but Three Rs Road was fishable.  A few small blues were caught there on cut mullet.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report
