WGMD Fishing Report 9-30-18

bill-o

On Sunday I attended a funeral in Claymont, and by the time I got home most of the tackle shops were closed so this is not my most up to the minute report.

I did see where Lewes Harbour Marina reported Steve Casanova caught a 6.21-pound flounder from the Katydid on Saturday.  The rest of the catch consisted of more flounder, sea bass and triggerfish.  Captain Brent was fishing over ocean structure.

Captain John Nedelka was kind enough to leave me a message about his trip on Sunday.  His party on the Karen Sue boxed 20 blues, 27 sea bass and two giant triggerfish.  He too fished ocean structure.

Burt at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said he saw a wide variety of fish on Sunday.  Sea bass, triggerfish, flounder and dolphin crossed the cleaning table.  Small dolphin were caught inshore while the larger ones were taken offshore.  The inlet gave up a few sheepshead on sand fleas.
