Wicomico County now has more land than it did last week. The County Council voted to accept a donation of 235 acres at their meeting this week. The land neighbors the Henry Parker Athletic Complex and is valued at over $1 million. However, the council has had a lengthy debate over the past months on whether the council should accept the property. Some councilmembers objected because they did not think the land could be developed, worry about the loss in tax revenues, also arguing that Wicomico County has too much land already, and nothing is ever done with it. The land was accepted by a 4-3 vote.
