Teachers in Wicomico County have struck a deal with their Board of Education. More than 1,250 teachers in the county will receive a pay raise based on years taught in Wicomico Public School system. This marks the second successful negotiation by the Board of Education in recent months, as a deal with Administration’s union was reached earlier in the year. The last hurdle will be to make a deal with the school system’s staffing. Superintendent Dr. Donna Hanlin says the district is still negotiating, and will “remain at the table to get a new contract” and hopes there will be a finalized agreement soon.
