A Wilmington man has been arrested on multiple charges after allegedly trying to strike a Harrington police officer with a vehicle on Sunday.  Police say it began when an officer tried to stop 40 year old Andrew Leary of Wilmington on Route 13 near Corn Crib Road for a traffic violation but Leary refused to pull over. Police gave chase and saw Leary drive on the wrong side of the road and recklessly pass other vehicles on the shoulder.  Leary pulled into a residential area where he drove his vehicle towards one of the officers.  Leary was eventually arrested and faces charges including reckless endangering, DUI and resisting arrest.  He was also charged with heroin possession, and police say he’s wanted on outstanding charges in New Castle County as well as in the state of Pennsylvania.
