Worcester County agrees to foot $300K dredging bill

Worcester County says it will find $300,000 needed to fund a dredging study for the Ocean City Inlet. Coast Dispatch reporting on Tuesday The County’s commissioners voted unanimously to find the money needed for the Army Corps of Engineers to complete a $1.2 million feasibility study. Worcester County originally wanted Ocean City to split the costs of the study, however, city officials bristled at the idea, noting their residents already make up 60% of the county revenues. Worcester County relented, and now employees are now scouring the budget for appropriate funding.
