Worcester County Emergency Services is offering a free class to help people be prepared for unexpected emergencies. The two workshops are called “Until Help Arrives” and will teach people what to do after an emergency is underway, but before medical personnel arrive. Topics include how to communicate with 911 operators, basic first aid such as how to position injured people and stop any bleeding. WCES Director Fred Webster says recent tornados across the peninsula show how unexpected emergencies can be, and that being prepared for those scenarios can save lives. The first free workshop will be held this afternoon from 1-4 PM at the Ocean Pines branch library, and again on September 18th.
