UPDATED: DSP Locate Wanted Delmar Man

UPDATED  6/11/19 – The search for Donnie Bennett has been cancelled – he has been located and arrested.  Bennett was wanted for assault and weapons charges.   Earlier today, members of the U.S. Marshals and the Maryland State Police apprehended Bennett without incident in Salisbury, Maryland.  Two firearms, an AK47 and a Remington shotgun have been recovered.   Bennett remains in custody in Salisbury, Maryland pending his extradition back to Delaware.


UPDATED – 11am – Delaware State Police are looking for 29 year old Donnie Bennett of Delmar who is wanted for assault and weapons offenses after an incident on Wednesday around 7:30pm on Hillbilly Lane. Police say Bennett was involved in a domestic incident with a 28 year old female victim that turned physical while they were traveling in a vehicle. Police say Bennett struck the victim and her 8year old child who was in a rear passenger seat. Bennett took the victim’s cell phone and left the area on foot. The victim was treated for minor injuries – the 8 year old and a 6 year old also in the vehicle were not injured. A Gold Alert has been issued for a missing man in the Delmar area.  Delaware State Police say 29 year old Donnie Bennett was last seen around 7:30pm – in a wooded area behind Waycross Road near Delmar. Bennett is white, 5′ 11″ and 180 pounds with red hair and brown eyes – and wearing blue jeans and a blue cut off shirt.
