Bridgeville man honored as “Tree Farmer of the Year”


A Bridgeville man named “Tree Farmer of the Year.” The Delaware Tree Farm Committee honoring Doug Simpson for his longtime dedication to forest conservation and landowner education. Using comprehensive stewardship plans developed alongside the State Forest Service, Simpson manages forestland for natural beauty, wildlife habitat, water quality, and wood products. In 2009, three of Simpson’s properties were selected as part of the Delaware AgLands Forest Preservation Program, meaning the 350 acres tree farms are permanently protected from development.
