UPDATED 3/17/19 – Dover Police have confirmed that the body that was located in Silver Lake on Sunday, March 17th, has been identified as 21 year old Erick Acevedo-Palencia . Acevedo-Palencia was reported missing after he was last seen leaving a Wesley College dorm on February 12th. Dover police were called Sunday morning just after 9 by a citizen who discovered the body near the shore line of the Lake Club Apartments.

Dover Police have issued a Gold Alert for a missing Wesley College student. Police say 21 year old Erick Acevedo-Palencia was last seen on Tuesday leaving Malmberg Hall just before 6:30pm. Police say he is about 6’ 2” and 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black athletic-type pants with a white stripe and white sneakers. Police have learned that Acevedo-Palencia made statements to others that are a cause for concern for his health and safety.
