A Milford man was arrested on drug and weapons charges during a traffic stop in Dover.
According to the Dover Police Department, around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, 21-year-old Drekwon Scott was stopped in the area of River Road and East Water Street for an equipment violation.
During the traffic stop, police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A search led to the discovery of three grams of marijuana, a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine under the driver’s seat, an additional magazine in the glove compartment, and an additional 35 rounds of 9mm ammunition on the floor behind the driver’s seat.
Scott was charged with Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony, Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $3,000 secured bond.
