Police Officer Arrested During DATE Investigation in Felton

An investigation into possible underage drinking at the Owls Nest in Felton led to the arrest of an underage person inside the taproom.  Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement officers also located a second person, but as they were verifying the age and identity, 26 year old William Paskey of Harrington forced his way between them and tried to push the officer away, which allowed the second suspect to run off.  Officers say Paskey appeared to be intoxicated and when the officer tried to arrest him he became disorderly but was arrested.  Paskey was found in possession of a loaded handgun and officers found Paskey is a full time officer with the Blades Police and part-time officer with the Ellendale Police.  Paskey is charged with hindering prosecution, resisting arrest, interference with a DATE officer and a weapons offense.  He was released on his own recognizance.
