Police say Hartly woman stabbed her boyfriend during domestic dispute

A Hartly woman was arrested on assault charges after police say she slashed her boyfriend’s tires and stabbed him with a knife.

According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 3 p.m., Tuesday when troopers were dispatched to Bayhealth Medical Center for a victim who was assaulted.

Troopers arrived and met with a 34-year-old man who said his girlfriend, 33-year-old Dayna Lilly, showed up to his residence in the unit block of Mcdougalls Lane in Hartly and began slashing his tires.

When the victim approached Lilly, she proceeded to stab him with a knife, according to police. He sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Lilly was taken into custody in the unit block of Kent Circle in Dover without incident and charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Assault Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief. She was arraigned and released on $22,600 unsecured bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Following her release, police say Lilly returned to the victim’s residence upon release and was re-arrested for Breach of Release. She was arraigned and released a second time on $500 unsecured bond on that charge.
