Shed/Kennel Fire in Ridgely Saturday Leaves Dog and Rabbits Dead

Ridgely firefighters were called to a fire Saturday morning just before 11 on Oakland Road in Ridgely left a dog and 5 rabbits dead. Maryland State Fire Marshal investigators say the detached shed was used for storage and domestic animal housing.

Officials say the fire originated inside the shed/kennel and spread to cause significant damage to adjacent outbuildings.

Damage is estimated at $20,000.
