Motorcyclist Dies After Collision with Vehicle in Milford


The Milford Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred around 6:00 p.m. on May 2nd. A white Chevrolet Malibu was turning left into a residence on North Church Street when a black Suzuki motorcycle, attempting to illegally pass on the left at high speed, collided with the vehicle. The 34-year-old motorcyclist, Robert D. Pierce of Greenwood, Delaware, later died at the hospital despite life-saving efforts. The 62-year-old driver of the Malibu was unharmed, while a 43-year-old woman who was the passenger sustained minor injuries. North Church Street was closed for three and-a-half hours hours during the investigation.
