Black drum are being caught at the Coral Beds and Broadkill Beach. Peeler or female crabs are the top baits for these sizable fish.聽
Flounder season has opened with promising reports. Anglers targeting striped bass and bluefish are also catching flounder, indicating a strong start to the season.聽
Surf Fishing (Cape Henlopen to Broadkill Beach) – The surf bite has picked up, with these species hitting bloodworms and Fishbites. Early morning and dusk are the most productive times for Kingfish, Spot, and Small Bluefish
Large striped bass, some over 40 inches, are being caught from the north jetty, particularly during early morning hours. Swim shads and plugs are effective lures.聽
Indian River Inlet & Back Bays – The north jetty is producing large striped bass, with catches over 40 inches reported during early morning hours.聽
Shad: Shad are occasionally entering the inlet on the incoming tide, though not consistently.聽
