Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/16/25

Surf conditions are calm this week, and the action is heating up! Striped bass are making a strong showing near the Indian River Inlet, with early mornings and dusk being your best bet. Fresh bunker and bucktails are getting the bites. Down by Ocean City, bluefish are running thick鈥攍ook for birds working the surface and throw metals or poppers to match the frenzy.

In-shore wrecks are producing solid numbers of black sea bass, and the flounder bite is turning on in the back bays鈥攖ry white Gulp on jigheads near channel edges.

Offshore, tuna chatter is picking up near the canyons. Boats heading out to the Washington and Poor Man’s Canyon are reporting early hits on the troll, mostly yellowfin, with a few bigeye mixed in.

Don’t forget your licenses, check the tides, and stay safe out there!
