Delaware State Police Arrest Two Teens Following Shooting Incident in Laurel


Delaware State Police have arrested two male teenagers–a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old from Laurel– following a shooting that happened yesterday, May 20th. Around 12:20 p.m., troopers and Laurel Police officers responded to Seaford Road after receiving a report of gunfire. Investigators learned that as a vehicle headed north on Seaford Road near Discount Land Road, one of the juveniles fired multiple shots at it. The gunfire did not strike the vehicle, and the driver and two passengers were unharmed. Police identified the suspects and located them during a search of the area. Officers took both into custody without incident. Troopers charged the 14-year-old with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of ammunition by a minor, three counts of first-degree reckless endangering, and conspiracy. They charged the 15-year-old with three counts of first-degree reckless endangering and conspiracy. Both were arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center on $125,000 cash bonds.
