UPDATED: DSP Identify Victim of Murder Near Millsboro

UPDATED – 06/17/25 – Delaware State Police have identified 75-year-old Deborah Steele of Millsboro, Delaware, as the woman who was killed by her son during a physical altercation Sunday evening in Millsboro.

ORIGINAL STORY – 06/16/25 – A Millsboro man has been arrested in connection with the death of a relative. Delaware State Police were called to a home on Phillips Hill Road near Millsboro to check on the welfare of a 75 year old woman after a family member had not been able to contact her for several days.
Police located the victim unresponsive on the couch and EMS confirmed the woman was deceased.
Police arrested 46 year old Daniel Steele, who was also in the home. Investigation shows Steele and the victim fought and he assaulted her until she lost consciousness.聽 There was no attempt to call for medical help after the incident.
Steele is charged with 1st degree murder and is being held at SCI on a $1-million cash bond.
