Police in Bethany Beach are looking for a man who aimed numerous fireworks at bystanders on Garfield Parkway. Bethany Beach Police responded to the scene and say body-worn camera footage recorded a possible suspect who remained behind – and then approached a large group of people along the beach and aimed a mortar-style firework into the center of the group – striking several people.
Police chased the suspect. After an extensive search, police narrowed the suspect to footage from the Garfield Parkway incident.
If you can identify the suspect – he is black, 18 to 20 years old, about 6-feet tall and 180 pounds with short dreadlock-style hair and a scar or scratch under his right eye – contact Bethany Beach Police at 302-539-1000.
