DSP Arrest Millsboro Man on DUI & other Charges after a Check on the Welfare

Delaware State Police were called for an unconscious man behind the wheel of a vehicle parked along the shoulder of Iron Branch Road in Dagsboro on Sunday afternoon. Police found the car – with the driver leaning out the door – windshield wipers and right turn signal activated. Police contacted the driver, 62 year old Kurt Faulkner of Millsboro, who showed signs of impairment – and saw an open bottle of whiskey inside the vehicle.

EMS transported Faulkner to a nearby hospital for evaluation. A computer check showed 4 previous DUI-related convictions and a search of the vehicle turned up 26 baggies of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.

A blood search warrant was obtained for DUI and Faulkner was arrested and charged with the following offenses: 

  • 5th Offense DUI (Felony)
  • Noncompliance with Conditions of Bond (Felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Driving While Suspended/Revoked
  • Failure to Have Registration Card in Possession

Faulkner was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $ 8,500 cash bond.
