Man Sentenced in Wicomico County After Pleading Guilty to Rape in First Degree

A 65-year-old man who pleaded guilty on March 19th to Rape in the First Degree has been sentenced in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. James Thompson was sentenced to Life with all but 25 years of incarceration suspended. If Thompson is ever released, he will be subject to Lifetime Sexual Offender Supervision and will be required to register as a Tier 111 Sexual Offender for life. From 2021 through 2023, Thompson repeatedly raped the victim while the two were members of the same household. Thompson threatened the victim to force compliance. On more than one occasion, Thompson coerced the victim into performing sexual acts with other men, some of which he filmed.
