Lewes Man Arrested after Shooting in King’s Highway Parking Lot

Delaware State Police have arrested a Lewes man after a shooting that occurred in Lewes Monday night just after 11. Police were called to the parking lot of Mr. P’s Pizza on Kings Highway and learned that and 18 year old man drove to the restaurant to pick up a 16 and 17 year old female. He spotted 20 year old Elijah Bush wearing a ski mask and talking to one of the females. As the girls got into the victim’s vehicle, Bush pulled a gun and fired several times – striking the vehicle as it left the parking lot. There were no injuries and Bush was arrested a short time later.

Bush was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the crimes listed below:  

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 21 (Firearm)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon – Firearm (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony) – 3 counts
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000

Bush was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,100 cash bond.
