Ellendale Man Arrested for Distribution of Drugs

An investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs from a home on South Old State Road in Ellendale led to the arrest of 53 year old Andre Mullen of Ellendale. Delaware SORT, Sussex County Drug Unit and Sussex County Governor’s Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence on Monday. Three people, including Mullen, were detained. The search turned up multiple items:

• Approximately 44.92 grams of crack cocaine
• Approximately 15.7 grams of powder cocaine
• Approximately 44 buprenorphine and sublingual films
• Digital scales
• Drug paraphernalia
• $793.00 in suspected drug proceeds

Mullen was taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below:

• Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Tier 3 (Felony)
• Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tier 3 (Felony)
• Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Tier 2 (Felony)
• Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tier 2 (Felony)
• Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tier 1 (Felony)
• Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
• Unlawful to Knowingly Operate or Attempt to Operate a Clandestine Laboratory (Felony)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Mullen was arraigned by Justice of Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $178,200 cash bond.
