Sussex County Marks One Year Since Loss of Thomas W. Berry, III With Memorial Tribute

One year ago, on August 13, 2024, the Sussex County Public Safety community experienced a tragic loss when Thomas W. Berry, III, died in the line of duty while responding to a motor vehicle accident in Georgetown. Berry served as a Logistics Technician with Sussex County EMS and volunteered with both the Georgetown and Ellendale Volunteer Fire Departments. His dedication to public service was reflected in his roles across multiple organizations. To mark the anniversary of his passing, a memorial聽is聽being聽dedicated today at the front of the Public Safety Complex. The installation is intended to recognize Berry鈥檚 contributions and serve as a permanent reminder of his commitment to public safety.
