Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 08/19/25
Monday, we welcomed the first wind and waves from the hurricane. Small craft advisories are now posted through Friday.
I understand the water was up to the dunes at 3Rs Road and this is just the first day. Seas are forecasted to go as high as 13 feet on Thursday and that is after two more days of hard northeast wind and building waves. The ocean will rise on every high tide, but won鈥檛 drop down very far on the low before rising back up on the next high. This is what causes tidal flooding.
You can expect all the ocean beaches to be closed, not just for the high water, but because of the risk from the rip currents and dangerous undertow. If the beach was open you can bet sooner or later someone would go in the water and that鈥檚 the last we would see him.
This is Eric Burnley with your Talk of Delmarva fishing report.
