UPDATED: State Police Investigating Fatal E-Bike Crash in Dover
UPDATED – 09/14/25 – Delaware State Police have identified 14-year-old Reis Yoc-Santos, of Dover as the teenager who died in the fatal crash involving a school bus and an electric bicycle that occurred Friday afternoon in Dover.

ORIGINAL STORY – 09/13/25 – A Dover boy is dead after the e-bike he was traveling on collided with a school bus Friday around 4pm. Delaware State Police say the school bus was eastbound on West Lebanon Road and moved into the right-turn lane to turn onto Royal Grant Way. At the same time an e-bike was eastbound on a paved sidewalk that runs along the right-turn lane and has a posted bicycle stop sign before the intersection.
The e-bike continued through the intersection without stopping for the posted sign and struck the passenger side of the turning bus.
A 14 year old from Dover – believed a passenger on the e-bike – was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 16 year old boy from Camden, believed the e-bike operator, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Neither teen wore a helmet.
The 75 year old Caesar Rodney School bus driver and 21 elementary school-aged students on the bus were not injured.
