Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 09/23/25

Monday was not as bad as the marine forecast predicted. Unfortunately, most captains listened to the forecast and stayed in port. A friend of mine in Virginia Beach said if you listen to the National Weather Service you will either go broke or drown.

Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m did have one Captain that decided to go fishing in the ocean at the Del-Jersey-Land Reef. The Captain Ike ran out the 26 miles and returned with an excellent catch of black sea bass. Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported that sheepshead were caught from the jetty rocks on sand fleas and green crabs. Keeper flounder were also taken from the same structure with mullet the prime bait.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park told us spot and short flounder were the only fish they saw caught on Monday.
